Danny D Bennet
United States

Danny D Bennett is an artist, musician, and writer based in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Writing serves as a way for him to ward off the monsters in the basement and the ghosts in the attic. He has always written, primarily for his own enjoyment. The first contest he entered was a poetry and fiction competition organized annually by the City Paper of Baltimore, where he surprisingly won first place with a poem titled “Pony Funerals.”

In recent years, Danny has focused on writing songs but returned to poetry on March 1, 2024. Since then, he has written nearly 500 poems and has been published in several literary and lifestyle magazines. He describes the process as taking dictation from a distant voice. Despite having no formal education in writing, creating this biography has been the most challenging piece for him due to his pathological shyness and strong dislike of discussing himself and his work.

He is working on two chapbook projects for a contest. One is titled The Plagiarist’s Daughter and the other is Tales of Stubborn Happiness.
