Doug Walters is a writer currently living in Connecticut, USA. His poems have been published in the Auburn Circle, The Filibuster, Daedalus, and Connecticut Bards Poetry Review 2025. He is currently researching how English is used in postcolonial African literature, and two of his nonfiction essays were honourable mentions in the 94th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition.
A former police officer from Alabama, he now teaches English to international
students online. He enjoys reading and writing, traveling, and exploring New England with his wife Megan and his two dogs Atlas and Eros. He is also working on a collection of short stories under the working title Uncomfortable.
His stories concentrate on the more painful and personal aspects of the modern human condition, and they wish to give a voice to some of the darker aspects of what it means to be alive.
