Time has always been faster than me
Running when I want to savour the moment
I remember being young so vividly
But that was a while ago now 

I guess I still am young
But not as young as I used to be
I used to have time to be and to breathe
But time is now faster than me

I remember when I would walk slowly
Because being late wouldn’t make or break me
Sight see and smell the leaves
But now time is running faster than me

I always wondered what being this age would feel like
Being who I am and knowing what I know
I was willing to take it slow
But time has always been faster than me

I wake up already late
For meetings I could do without
And schedules that have taken precedence over life experiences
Oh how I wish things would slow down
But time has always been faster than me.
