Kat Welch released her first book “6 Months in Hell & Other Poems” in March 2024, based on her own experience of battling with and recovering from acute psychosis in 2015. Kat’s motivation was to prompt a conversation about what can be a difficult topic due to stigma, and to also give hope that a full recovery is possible. Kat has received praise for sharing her story and encouraging others to do the same.

“Work in Progress & Other Poems”, is Kat’s second book and focuses on the ups & downs of an undiagnosed autistic girl growing up in the 1980s and early 1990s. The poems take the reader on a journey through childhood often frought with anxiety, confusion and the feeling of being an outsider. The narrative is lightened along the way with humour and joyous moments. Both books are available on Kindle – 6 Months in Hell is also available in paperback on Amazon. Work in Progress will be released in paperback 01/11/24.

Aside from writing, Kat Welch loves music whether it’s listening to it, playing guitar, singing or attending concerts.

Kat is from Manchester, UK where she lives with her teenage daughter and their cat, Sally.
