Kit Fruscione- The Tears of Santiago

Covering the city and washing it away of its sadness and silence,
Denial and nothingness.
Me, here, waiting for you
Just wanting you
How many times will I tell you? And secretly ask you?
The way I did, in that farm house, in that dining room,
Somewhere in Spain. The light was perfect, it was so still. The fireplace was behind us. I saw the daylight on your cheek. I wanted to stare at you forever and a day.
Wanting to give everything in my heart to you
Only to stop and bite my tongue, draw my eyes to the ground, lower my head, and lie to you, “it’s nothing…”
And so, the tears of Santiago will forever dampen my eyes and heart every time I look at you. They wash away a little piece of me, and you, each rain fall.
