Luchang Zhu – Two Rivers
When I am awed by the zillions of starlights
that traveled eons
to reach my mortal eyes
Do I have a glimpse of
the deep sky of my mind?
When I burn my fleeting life
crossing rivers and mountains
hunting treasures in the mist
on the other shore
over the other ridge
Do I also walk
the rivers and mountains
of my heart?
I wonder
whether exploring this vast universe
forges
fabricates
or merely illuminates
another vast universe within.
I wonder if,
before memory turns into a fossil,
I could see two parallel rivers
feeding into the same sea.
