Peter lives in East Lancashire, in a working-class part of Northern England, UK. Peter has been writing most of his life, he writes poetry, short stories and is also writing his first novel ‘FlyOver Gallery: tales of the Dirt Poets’. You can read this as it appears chapter by chapter on his Substack feed.

This Flyover Gallery is a real place, a space beneath a motorway (highway if reading this in the States) of cathedral height concrete stanchions topped by asphalt and invisible travellers. He follows other invisible artists in using this hidden world to write, paint, think and sometimes sleep.

After decades in academia, Peter has left to focus on writing that allows accent, class and lives seldom celebrated to dominate the work he does now.

He is compiling a book of poetry called Slag Heap of the Mind. This brings several themes together, his love of Beat poetry, the desire to bring other lives to the page and a chance to recognise working class voices as both powerful and creative.

Manic World is one of a few places that allow writers and artists from the dirty slopes of the underworld to find publication. Many thanks for sharing my work to others and allowing me to read, see and hear them in return.
