Sadiya is a poet who draws on themes of identity, history and relationships to
produce evocative and nuanced work which poses many questions.
She speaks four languages (is always trying to learn a new one) and they often
influence her word-smithery.
Sadiya inhabits a multicultural, diasporic world adopting different identities. Objects, memories and characters trigger her work; she commentates on social class, second-generation immigrant experiences and connections. Her work is unstructured and often grammar-free, which encourages free-flowing reading and interpretation.
Sadiya has been published in Pressed Town Zine and was recently longlisted for the erbacce prize 2025. Her poetry will soon be featured in Zimmer Magazine and on scribbled online. She has begun to perform her poetry on-stage.
She has worked in arts organisations, local government, charities and is currently ensconced at the University of Lancashire.

Sadiya is based in Lancashire, UK and enjoys photography, contemporary fiction, baking and travelling to sunny destinations.
