I’ve long thought I was being punished for some reason whenever something went wrong. A bad day, a bad hour, a bad minute could turn me away from the smiling self I project myself to be to the dour kid crying in his room at thirteen which I don’t think I ever really escaped. But then you came like

But not you. Your pretty face, your golden smile, your beauty stand steadfast and rigid. The sharp words I launch at myself cannot slice or even graze you, and how wonderful that you choose to remind me that all your love is mine and that love envelops me and the sharp words then bounce off me as well.
