beneath the amber sky
where golden leaves now fall,
a spider lily blooms.

two hearts entwined
now lost in time, in a distant place
the whispers of time say goodbye
as autumn’s love dies out.

the spider lily bows its head
to the silent moon, paths that cross
but never meet – two souls in bittersweet.

we stood so close, yet so far
bounded by fate
like petals in the winter,
we drifted away.

we walk alone
in the same street as before,
where the flower marked
where our love began, and
where it will never bloom again.
