Labradors love astronomy
They’re forever gazing at the stars
It’s not the breeze they’re seeking
when their heads poke out of cars
It’s the wonders of the universe that fill their little heads
Constellations, galaxies, all observed in infrared

They peer up to the heavens, delving deep into the past
And as they twitch their doggie noses 
A billion light years pass
Their enthusiasm’s boundless for the marvels of deep space
It’s what they dream of by the fireside in their favourite snoozing place

Meteorites may crumble
When they’re chasing balls and sticks
Gravity causes tumbles
It’s simple, plain physics

Seeing further gives a Labrador 
the faith of a believer
and the God that they encounter 
Takes the form of a Retriever.
