Every new connection makes it a little harder for anyone to be drowned out by the noise of modern society.

ManicWorld Magazine launched on 25 November 2024 with a simple aim: to give creators a place to be seen.

Over ten monthly issues, and now a quarterly rhythm, we found that the most rewarding moments came when contributors began to find one another, and the magazine slowly became something closer to a community than a set of pages. That discovery has shaped everything since.

Creative Match brings writers together to make work side by side; Full Circle gathered artists into a shared virtual gallery; Patterns and the Break is collecting new voices for our first print anthology; and The Bridge Editions are beginning to pair us with fellow literary journals on joint editions.

We are run by a volunteer team spread from Sheffield and Edinburgh to Romania, Costa Rica and Nigeria, and we care about two things above all: openness, so that debut and established writers stand on the same page, and generosity, because creative work grows stronger when it is shared.

What started as a magazine has become a world, and it keeps getting bigger.

Do you write poetry or short stories? Submissions for both are open all year, so send us your work whenever it’s ready. First-timers and seasoned authors are equally welcome, and we’d love to count you among our maniacs.
