Only in the Letters
Every other week, Letters from ManicWorld goes out to the people who have chosen to follow the magazine beyond what we share on our website. In each letter there is a space set aside for a single piece of work that will not appear anywhere else, only in the inboxes of the people who want to read our letters.
You can submit your work to be chosen for this but we only have one spot so it will be more competitive than usual.
Poems, short stories, flash fiction and visual art are all welcome here, and so is anything that sits somewhere between them as long as it feels like something worth sending to a reader directly, the way you might send a screenshot to a friend and say, read this.
Poems of up to 40 lines, and prose of up to 1,000 words. One file only. You can submit multiple times but your work can only be selected once every two months.
When a piece is chosen, it is published once, in a single letter, with your name, a short biography and a link to wherever readers can find more of your work.
Like everything we publish, it is unpaid and chosen by our volunteer editors. All rights will return to you once the letter has gone out, so you are free to publish the piece elsewhere afterwards, and we only ask that you mention it first appeared in Letters from ManicWorld.
Want your work to be featured in our online library instead? Please visit Become A Manic Author.
Our standards
We publish PG-rated work only, and any submission created with the help of AI will be rejected.
